While the report contains nothing new it succinctly and accurately describes the environment in which ambulance workforces operate. We endorse the recommendations but would go further. Speaking up culture is fundamental to wider improvement: it is an enabler of change as well as a building block of positive culture in its own right. By getting speaking up right, and encouraging everyday dialogue, you will be making cultural improvements at every level. In this summary response we present six questions we encourage leaders in health, indeed in any sector, to contemplate.
