A Guardian Service Response to ‘Listening to workers – a speak up review of ambulance
trusts in England’ (National Guardian’s Office, February 2023).

Section 1: Summary

A ‘Speak Up Review’ of NHS ambulance trusts in England was published by The National Guardian’s Office (NGO) in February 2023. The report can be found here:

https://nationalguardian.org.uk/case-review/speak-up-review-of-ambulance-trusts-in-england/

The review was prompted by concerns about the speak up culture in ambulance trusts. Such concerns were first highlighted in 2020 in the NGO’s ‘Freedom to Speak Up Index Report 2020’. That report can be found here:

The review report sets out a number of observations and recommendations. This report sets out the Guardian Service’s response to these.
