Now diversifying into new sectors, The Guardian Service approach has been tested and shaped by probably the most unique, demanding and complex operating environment in the country - the NHS.
After becoming National Patient Champion for the NHS in 2010, Ashley Brooks established The Guardian Service in 2013 in response to the Francis investigation into significant failures of care, leadership and culture at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust.
With around 1.5m full and part time staff working in hundreds of different locations, the NHS is the largest single employer in Europe and the fifth largest globally. Consistently voted as one of the UKs most revered public institutions, the work of NHS staff at all levels is subject to high levels of regulatory, political, media and public scrutiny. We are proud of our origins, and the part we play in supporting the NHS today.
We currently support over 120,000+ employees across England, Scotland and Wales.

Welcome to The Guardian Service
“We were hugely impressed with The Guardian Service’s powerful video. It already forms part of our Trust induction programme, and we’re confident that it gets across the role of the service and the importance of speaking up in a way that truly speaks to our clinical colleagues.”
