The Guardian Service is here to help all staff to raise improvements, concerns, ideas and talking about issues in an independent and confidential environment.

We are contracted by organisations to provide independent and confidential Freedom to Speak Up support to everyone who works in their organisation. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The Guardian service is an additional route to line managers, senior management teams, HR, Unions and other mechanisms for speaking up.
A person who is trained to confidentially listen to you and provide support. The Guardian Service Guardian’s are independent from the commissioning organisation and have access to senior team members to escalate cases.
Workers can speak up about improvements, concerns, ideas and work-related issues. Work related issues include bullying and harassment; discrimination; poor working practices; whistleblowing; disrespect and inappropriate behaviour.
It is using your voice to raise improvements, concerns, ideas and talking about issues.
When everyone within an organisation does this effectively, they start building an open culture, where everyone can be successful.
We recognise the speaking up is not as simple as it sounds, it takes courage. This is due to us having to make ourselves vulnerable and overcome barriers. Once you’ve had that first conversation, that’s the hardest part. Most people say they feel lighter and freer once they have spoken to someone.
