Employer Supported Volunteering
Volunteering is a key element of social action in the community, offering practical support to benefit others.
As an organisation which helps other organisations navigate together through today’s evolving challenges with proactive and positive action, we are keen to act as a broker of social action opportunities for our Guardians, so that they can be a force for good in enacting this ethos in the community.
The Guardian Service will allocate 2 days per employee per year for volunteering.
Investing in KIVA to support the "Unbanked" globally
Kiva is an international non-profit organisation who facilitate financial access and help to underserved communities. An estimated 1.4 billion people on the planet are considered “unbanked” for various reasons, including:
Not enough money to meet minimum deposit requirements
Lack of trust in traditional banks
Systemic or structural factors like unstable governments, conflicts, refugee status, or racism
Socioeconomic factors like gender inequality, wealth inequality or lack of education
Inappropriate forms of I.D.
As an organisation, we will commit to helping individuals access loans through Kiva’s microlending site, implementing a dedicated committee of Guardian’s who will meet quarterly to determine contributions towards selected communities to increase their financial access.
Investments completed will be listed on our website.
