Julia has over 27 years of experience working for local authorities in social work, including 15 years in NHS settings.
During this time, she spent five years as a Principal Social Worker and a further 13 years in senior leadership roles. Her responsibilities have included leading staff engagement initiatives and overseeing the learning and development of staff in public-facing roles.
With a strong background in staff development, coaching, and mentoring, Julia has dedicated her career to creating inclusive and supportive environments where individuals feel valued, empowered, and confident to raise concerns.
Julia says: "As a Guardian, I want staff to know I am approachable and provide a safe space for them to raise issues and concerns, with confidence in my commitment to handle these appropriately. Building trust, honesty, and supporting managers to have open dialogue can lead to positive organisational change."
