Ashley Brooks

Ashley founded The Guardian Service in 2013 at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

In 2010, Ashley was appointed by the Department of Health as the National NHS Patient Champion with a remit encompassing all NHS organisations, staff and patients. Since his appointment, he has become the country’s most trusted independent staff and patient advocate.

Ashley has dedicated the last twelve years to supporting the NHS, staff and patients, driven by his experience of receiving world class care by the NHS in his treatment for leukaemia.

Ashley says: “More than ever we need to centre attention on staff wellbeing. Organisations must offer more in the way of support and care, and create safe spaces to talk and listen.

Here at The Guardian Service our aim is to enhance staff wellbeing and be a resource that helps, a resource that enables and a resource that influences great change.”
