Sheela Kaya

Sheela brings over 22 years’ experience from her career with Leicestershire and Surrey Police.

 

During this time, she developed strong leadership and management expertise, underpinned by a calm, approachable style and a commitment to active listening and people development.

She is particularly skilled at working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities. Sheela is confident in supporting people through difficult conversations and has significant experience of managing sensitive issues, with professionalism and care.

Sheela says: “I became a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian because I strongly believe that everyone should have the freedom and confidence to raise concerns. People need to feel listened to, supported and safe to speak up, without fear of repercussions or detriment. When staff trust the process, real learning and positive change become possible.”
