Joanna spent more than 30 years in academia, central government, and education before joining GSL.

She authored numerous papers about health inequalities before becoming become Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit.

After a break to raise her family, Joanna retrained as a careers adviser and spent the next decade helping young people navigate their options and build the confidence to take their next steps.

Joanna says: "I’m passionate about helping people recognise their strengths, build resilience and make informed decisions about their future. Great leadership requires courage, empathy and authenticity, qualities that are essential for creating trust and enabling others to flourish."
