Health, Safety and Security Standards
The Guardian Service expects its suppliers to have a systematic approach to health, safety and security management adhering to all applicable local laws, regulations and standards and to implement all precautions necessary to protect the health, safety and security of its employees and customers.
Mental Health Support
Guardians are obliged to undergo a bi-annual psychological counselling session organised by GSL to ensure their mental well-being and that no adverse effects are being experienced due to the issues they are continually dealing with. Guardians have continuous access to a psychotherapist as required.
Mandatory Training
As part of a Guardian's development, we provide mandatory training to better equip our Guardians to manage the mental challenges of the role - this includes: Mental Health First Aid certification, resilience training, NGO Freedom to Speak Up refresher training and facilitation skills.
Bi-monthly Practice Development Meetings
Guardians attend bi-monthly practice development meetings to address caseload, methodology, practice etc. On a quarterly basis these meetings are supervised by a psychotherapist to ensure all participants are engaged in open discussion and any warning signals of vicarious transfer of concerns to an individual are being noted.
Living Wage

Sick Pay
GSL operates a sick pay scheme which ensures that all staff are in receipt of full net pay for a minimum of three months and thereafter this can be extended at the discretion of the company. We wish to ensure that staff will not be disadvantaged financially should they need extended medical treatment and should not have that stress in addition to their illness.

Life Insurance
Provided by AIG, life insurance automatically commences on an individual's commencement date. The insured value is three times annual gross salary and excludes any bonus payments.

Employees of GSL are automatically enrolled into a workplace pension which GSL contributes to. Smart Pension is one of the UK's largest workplace pension providers.
